We recently had a blast dancing to the new Just Dance 4 and have been working up a sweat but then we were asked to try out Just Dance Disney Party. Just Dance and Disney in one nice little package?! Count me in!

As with the other Just Dance games, it’s an interactive game where players must match their movements to the dancer’s movements on screen and now to some of their favorite songs.

There are a few different modes to choose from – Just Create: This takes about a minute of any of the songs included and transforms your room to be part of the video and where your kids can create their own dance moves, Dance: This is the main area of the game. You can swipe through the list of songs and choose a song, or Parents: The parents section is more or less an extras area.

The Dance option is split up into 3 sections which are Playlists, Songs and Non-stop Shuffle. The playlists consist of 17 preset playlists and 10 create your own.

In the Playlist section you can find songs broken down to easy songs, harder songs, workout songs, and even by language! Just Dance Disney Party has included 11 different languages so this game truly can be for everyone!

For the Song section, there are 25 songs to choose from. All the songs can handle 4 players just like the other Just Dance series of games. You can get 4 stars on each song, depending on how well you do. Since it is for kids, you don’t actually have to hit the moves spot-on to get a score which I think it great because kids usually don’t care about accuracy, they just want to visually see that they did well.

Let’s talk about the songs because there are some great ones in here! You can find Classic Disney songs, Modern Disney songs, and Disney Channel songs on the list.

  • The Jungle Book – The Bare Necessities
  • Beauty And The Beast – Be Our Guest
  • Cinderella – Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo
  • A.N.T. Farm – Calling All The Monsters
  • Wizards of Waverly Place – Everything Is Not As It Seems
  • The Aristocats – Ev’rybody Wants To Be A Cat
  • TinkerBell – Fly to Your Heart
  • Peter Pan – Following The Leader
  • Good Luck Charlie – Hang In There Baby
  • Lilo & Stitch – Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride
  • Jessie – Hey Jessie
  • Hannah Montana – Hoedown Throwdown
  • Bolt – I Thought I Lost You
  • It’s A Small World – It’s A Small World
  • Tangled – I’ve Got A Dream
  • The Muppets – The Muppet Show Theme
  • Shake It Up – Shake It Up
  • Phineas and Ferb – S.I.M.P. (Squirrels In My Pants)
  • Tangled – Something That I Want
  • Mary Poppins – Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
  • Enchanted – That’s How You Know
  • Camp Rock – This Is Me
  • Shake It Up – Twist My Hips
  • The Little Mermaid – Under The Sea
  • High School Musical – We’re All In This Together

My personal favorite to dance to is A.N.T Farms “Calling All The Monsters. I’ve done it maybe 5-6 times and have it down perfectly if I do say so myself. We’ve danced to almost every song and I believe the Hannah Montana “Hoedown Throwdown” is probably the hardest. Maybe it’s just because neither my daughter or I have any hand-eye coordination or we aren’t country enough? I don’t know but it is hard and I cannot get this dance down no matter how hard I try.

After you select your song you can dance your booty off and at the end you get a score!

One of the most fun parts is after you dance, and after your score, you get to see a picture of yourself in action. Yes, that’s me. No, I will not show you the video of me dancing that my daughter took. LOL.

Even if you don’t have a huge room 4 people can overlap and still be included. The Kinect is able to recognize someone as long as you raise your hand in the beginning. You’ll see green, pink, orange and blue people in the black box to the right on the screen and that’s how you know if everyone is being accounted for.

Be nice, this is a 2-year-old, 6-year-old, 8-year-old, and 13-year-old with no dance lessons, lol.

This is a MUST for a holiday gift! You can purchase Just Dance Disney Party for the XBox 360 for $59.99 or for the Wii for just $19.99 on Amazon!

CONCLUSION

Great game and I believe it’s a fun atmosphere that Just Dance has brought to the table. I think they could have added a lot more songs to the list though because there are a lot of Disney movies that have songs that would have been great for the game – I’m even thinking as far back as Oliver And Company “Why Should I Worry” or The Lion King “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” or more recent (or Modern) Disney song like from Cars “Life is a Highway”. I also think a feature of being able to unlock special extras once the kids get enough stars would have been great too.
